We have one day to live! How do I know that??
“Extra, Extra, Read All About It!” This iconic phrase that goes back to in time when newspapers were the primary source of news and was meant to capture attention and sell papers. This phrase offers an invitation– to uncover the hidden truths beneath the surface, and to seek understanding beyond the headlines.
In our world of instant notifications, and a constant stream of breaking news, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of urgency. It prompts me to try to constantly stay ahead, to not miss out on the latest trends and opportunities, or “shinny objects”; to always hurry up, to keep up with the breaking pace of life. Well, let’s move into what is under the surface!
As I reevaluate, I am thinking, “what if, instead of rushing forward, I took a moment to pause, to breathe, and to embrace the present, precious moments of my life? Can you do that with me. WE will live above the “noise” and find peace.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle, it’s essential to remember the beauty of slowing down, of savoring each moment, and of trusting in the timing of life.
You have only 1 day to live……I have only 1 day to live; that’s right, only 1. You nor I can live in tomorrow or live in the past. You have only this minute, this hour, to live—savor it.
As the announcement states, “Extra, extra, read all about it!” But perhaps it’s time to rewrite the headlines of our lives, to focus not on the urgency of the news cycle, but on the sweetness of today’s events.
God, often orchestrating suddenlies in our life that catch us by surprise. Yet, in our eagerness to stay ahead, we may find ourselves succumbing to FOMO (fear of missing out), constantly chasing after the next big thing. But what if we paused to reflect on what truly matters? What if we chose to let go of the fear of missing out and instead embraced the peace of living in the present moment?
Taking a moment for self-examination, I uncovered the root of my hurry—a deep-seated belief that I must constantly be on the move, always striving to stay ahead of the curve. But I am shifted my perspective.
Do you need to re-evaluate? Will you re-evaluate?
I believe that I am exactly where I need to be. Can you say you are walking in the plan that your Creator has written out for you? (Psalms 139)
This is worth your deepest honest thoughts.
At the heart of it all, God is the author of time and space, orchestrating each moment with divine precision. We need not be consumed by negative thoughts of the future, for we can and must trust in the unfolding of His plan.
It’s about relinquishing control, releasing the need to rush forward, and surrendering to the rhythm of divine timing.
YES, I can find total success and freedom in my pursuit of a new business, Affiliate Marketing. Timing is everything!
So, let us take a deep breath, inhaling the sweet aroma of today’s blessings, and exhale the worries of tomorrow.
Enjoy your journey.
Let’s slow down, embracing the peace that comes from knowing that we are exactly where we need to be. And let us walk forward with faith, believing for the impossible and trusting in the unfolding of God’s perfect plan.

I totally relate to the Extra! Extra! headline. Great message to slow things down a bit. After all, life is so much more enjoyable if one takes the time to stop and smell the roses.
Thanks for your reply Robert. Yes, life CAN be absolutely too fast.
Have a great day.
John
I 100% agree, we should embrace the present moment and find peace in slowing down amid life’s fast pace. I have been working on slowing down and enjoying the journey and really looking at affiliate marketing with beginners eyes, wiling to learn everything I can, taking one small step forward each day, focusing on the present and not the future outcome.
Thanks for your reply Alison.

Appropo to this, tomorrow is my 73 year around the sun. Today and tomorrow, I’m taking it easy. But I’ve slowed down in general, working on Affiliate Marketing, walking the dogs, considering what I’ll do with the garden this year etc. I know I won’t live forever, which makes it particularly strategic to keep on keeping on.
Ahhhhh, happy birthday Kate! May this be your very best year YET!
Blessings
John
Thank you for this blog.
I have been in this process of self-examination this week in the way I go about my daily life looking at ways of balancing work and family.
I am working on that, I want to enjoy the journey, slowing down and embracing peace.
I appreciate that you exactly where you should be!
Thank you Eleanor. I appreciate your reply.

That’s a great thing to remember, and I like the way you’ve put it. We only have this 1 day to live, not yesterday, not tomorrow, so yeah let’s appreciate what we have right now.
Celebrate……. today is a #win.
Great post. I think life combines grabbing the brass ring and reflecting on the experience. Every day is a gift and shouldn’t be wasted. In the same breath, the ability to process experiences is necessary for pausing and re-examing your choices. Both are important for keeping you grounded and on the right path.
Thank you Vanessa, for your reply.

Hi John,
Ever since the internet came around, life has become a fast pace for everyone… I don’t know where the time goes anymore, and I always feel like there’s never enough time to get things done. Having a balance in life is so important, or we all can lose control of the important things. Thanks for this post.

Thanks for your thoughts and reply Meredith.
John,
I loved reading your post! It’s incredibly easy to get swept away in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Your reminder to embrace the present moment resonates with me. I often find myself caught up in the constant motion, feeling like I should always be on the go. Your words nudged me to take a step back and savor today. Thanks for the insightful reminder!

Thank you for your reply Sherri!
John, great post thank you very much. The bit that really resonated with me is when you spoke about God. As a Muslim I believe that God, Allah has the plan for each of us. He knows the best time to open the doors for different opportunities for us. We think we are in control but we’re not. We have to be patient and keep trying be good and then the doors will open at the right time. Sometimes the doors never open and that doesn’t mean God doesn’t want you to do something. It probably means he’s protected you from something. Thank you so much for this post I really liked it. Thanks, Atif
