If the grave could talk, what would it say?

We all have a common denominator. We will die. It will happen one day. Death will defeat you and me. You won’t be able to dodge it, sidestep it, trick it or make it disappear. As I prepare to celebrate Easter, many thoughts go through my head.

Some of us have many years in front of us. Some of us are staring death in the eyes. Kind of morbid, but we all think about death, don’t we? Are you scared of it? Do you worry about dying?

I am making a deliberate decision to enjoy my Marketing journey each and every day!  Dean and the Team make it  very pleasurable !!!

Although there is a beginning and ending to physical life. If the grave could talk it would say, “Death will defeat you.”

BUT—“EASTER has come!!!

It’s more than a “Bunny”…..we celebrate Easter ‘cause Jesus defeated death and rose again to bring us abundant life … life eternal. Jesus, the man who defeated the grave makes a way for us.

Jesus redefined what the grave would say.

When Jesus talks, the grave speaks. Jesus’ grave gives each and every one of us hope. He tells us that death doesn’t have to defeat us if we have a relationship with Him. He tells us that we won’t lose. Jesus is the ultimate champion. We follow the Savior who defied death and the grave. His grave says, “Death will not have the final word.”

For us, it is as easy as ABC.

Accept, Believe, Confess.  —   Accept Jesus as personal Savior, Believe He died for our sins and rose again, and Confess His promises.

PRAY: “Jesus, help me believe and trust that you have conquered the grave. (EASTER has come) I don’t want to be afraid of death. I want to believe in the Savior of the world who conquered death.”

”A good reputation is better than expensive perfume; and the day you die is better than the day you are born. It is better to go to a home where there is mourning than to one where there is a party, because the living should always remind themselves that death is waiting for us all. Sorrow is better than laughter; it may sadden your face, but it sharpens your understanding. Someone who is always thinking about happiness is a fool. A wise person thinks about death and Eternity. It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises.“ Ecclesiastes 7:1-5 GNT

It’s your world. YOLO. You only live once.

We love questions about our success now. What is your net worth? What have you accomplished in life? How much is your retirement account? What awards have you won? How far have you climbed up the corporate ladder? What vacations and experiences have you been able to give to your kids? All that matters is now. We might spend 17-20 years in school and 40-50 years working to obtain the American dream.

And then what?

Well, you die. Your stuff gets left behind and people fight about who gets what.  Just like you and your family fought about grandma’s jewelry or grandpa’s tool collection. Have you ever thought about that? We spend our whole life creating an inventory of stuff we can’t take with us when we die.

If the grave could talk, it would say, “All that matters is NOW.”

All that will matter is that we have a relationship with Jesus, and we did as much as we could to Elevate his name while we were on this earth.

Forever matters more than now.

His grave says “Put your eyes on eternity, and your heart on heaven.”
